Types of Rope Haulage

B. Endless Rope Haulage system :-
As the name indicates "endless" means an endless Rope passes from driving drum which is located at the out bye end of the haulage road to the in bye end via a tension bogey.
In endless Rope haulage, two parallel tracks are required. The loaded tubs are on one track and the empties are on the other track.
The loaded tubs and the empty tubs are attached at regular intervals. At a time only one tubs is attached but by the use of lashing chain, attachment of a set of tubs are made.
For attachment or detachment of a tub, the clip is use( when the rope is in motion).
• Gradient Required :- 1 in 6.
• Speed of Rope :- From 3km/h to 7 km/h.
• Motion of Rope is in one direction.
•  Motor used :- Squirrel cage.

Disadvantages:-
 • It covers wide area for installation as two      tacks are required.
• If there is any big problem is arises in this     system, all the stand still.
• It can not serve the branch road as there      is  many problems are arises but by using    deflection pulley, it can serve for branch        roads.

Advantages :-
• This is a slow speed system due this the        derailment does not causes heavy damage    and also there is less wear and tear.
• The motor of less power is required.

C. Main and tail Rope Haulage :-
In this system there are two drums required separately  one for loaded train and other for empty train.
When the one drum there is one rope is in gear then the other drum revolves freely but in control manner and a brake is also
Present to keep rope taut.
• The main rope is equal to length road but the tail rope is in twice length.
• Suitable for undulating roadway.
• This system is installed for branching.
• The speed is high that's why derailment occurs.

D. Gravity Haulage
 This is the simplest mode of transportation because in this system there is no motors are employed but having a strap braking system.
It is installed at the top of inclined roadway
 and the pulley is in vertical position. Only a single roadway is require but at midway a bye pass road is required for the passes of empty train and the loaded train.
• The name of the pulley is "Jig pulley".

*What is tub?
 - It is a open box like structure (open at top) mounted on the frame of wood with wheel.
The capacity of tub is of  1.1 cubic meter usually.

*What is mine car?
- This is of larger in capacity usually 3cubic meter or more.
